01Who we are

VIA INDIGOS LLC is a contract manufacturing company registered in the United States. We manage the making and delivery of engineered parts for United States buyers, and the work itself is carried out through audited partner facilities in India.

In this policy, VIA INDIGOS, we, us and our mean VIA INDIGOS LLC. You and your mean the person using this website or contacting us. This policy applies to viaindigos.com and to the emails, quotations, forms and calls that follow from it.

02What this policy covers

This policy explains what information we take, why we take it, who else sees it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.

It does not cover other companies. If you follow a link from our site to a supplier directory, a certification register, a social network or any other site, that site has its own policy and we do not control it.

This policy is about personal information, meaning information that identifies a person. It also explains, in section 5, how we handle the technical files you send us, because for our visitors that matters just as much.

03Information you give us

You choose what to send us. In practice, most of it arrives in 1 of 4 ways.

• The RFQ form. Your name, company, work email, phone number, the part you need, quantities, target dates and any drawings, models, specifications or samples list you attach.
• Email and phone. Anything you write or say to us, including quotation discussions, purchase order details, shipping addresses and the names of colleagues you copy in.
• Booking a call. If you book a call through our scheduling link, you give your name, email and the time slot you chose.
• Meeting us elsewhere. Business cards at a trade show, a connection request on a professional network, or an introduction from a mutual contact.

We do not ask for and do not want financial account numbers, government identity numbers, health information or any sensitive personal information through this website. Please do not send it.

04Information we collect automatically

Like most websites, ours records some technical information when you visit. This includes your internet protocol address, the type of browser and device you use, the pages you open, how long you stay, and the site or search that sent you to us.

We use this to understand which pages are useful, to spot faults, and to protect the site from abuse. We look at it as patterns across many visitors, not as a file on you.

The tools that carry out this collection today are Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Calendly. Each of these is run by a separate company with its own privacy policy, and each is listed here so you know exactly who is counting.

05Your drawings, files and intellectual property

This is the section most buyers care about, so we will be specific.

Every drawing, 3D model, specification, tolerance sheet and print you send us stays yours. Sending it to us gives us permission to do 1 thing only, which is to quote and, if you place an order, to make the part. It does not transfer any right in your design to us or to anyone else.

• Your files are stored by project and revision, so old and new versions are never mixed on the shop floor.
• Access is limited to the people working on your part. Not everyone in our company can open your folder.
• Partner facilities and sub suppliers receive only what they need to make or inspect the part, and they receive it under a written confidentiality agreement that carries our obligation to you down to them.
• We do not publish, resell, license or reuse your design for another customer, and we do not display your parts as our work without your written permission.
• We do not disclose the names of our partner facilities to third parties, and we do not disclose your name to them beyond what the work requires.
• If you send us a drawing and no order follows, you can ask us to delete it and we will, subject to the record keeping described in section 11.
• We do not accept work controlled under United States export rules, including ITAR, unless it has been agreed in writing in advance.

Your drawing is the most valuable thing you send us. We treat it that way.

If your company needs this in a signed form before you send anything, ask us for a mutual confidentiality agreement and we will send one the same day.

06Why we use your information

We use what you give us for these purposes and no others.

• To answer your enquiry, review your part for manufacturability and prepare a quotation.
• To place and track your order, arrange inspection, shipping, customs paperwork and delivery.
• To keep you updated on status and to answer your questions during the job.
• To issue quotations, invoices and shipping documents, and to keep the business records the law requires us to keep.
• To improve the website and our written material.
• To contact you about work we think is relevant to you, on the terms in section 8.
• To protect our site and our customers from fraud, misuse and security incidents.

Where the law of your country requires a legal basis, ours are: performing a contract with you or taking steps at your request before a contract; our legitimate interest in running and improving a business to business supply business; your consent, where we ask for it; and compliance with a legal obligation.

07Cookies and tracking

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device so it can recognise your browser on your next page or next visit.

We use 2 kinds. Necessary cookies make the site work, remember your choices and keep it secure. Measurement cookies count visits and show us which pages are read and which are skipped.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Most browsers accept them by default. Refusing measurement cookies has no effect on your ability to send an RFQ or receive a quotation. Refusing necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where it reaches us as an opt out of any sharing for advertising purposes. As explained in section 13, we do not sell personal information in any case.

08Marketing and outreach

We are a business to business company, and we do contact companies who have not contacted us first. If we write to you on a professional network or send you an introduction email, we do it because your company appears to buy the kind of parts we make, and we use business contact details that are publicly available or that you gave us.

Every marketing message from us tells you who we are and how to stop receiving them. 1 reply asking us to stop is enough, and you never have to explain why. We will also stop if you unsubscribe, ask on a call, or write to info@viaindigos.com.

Stopping marketing does not stop the messages you actually need. If you have a live order with us, we will still send you status updates, quality records and shipping documents, because those are part of the work.

09Who we share information with

We share what is needed, with the people who need it, and nothing more.

• Partner facilities and sub suppliers in India, so your part can be quoted, made, inspected and packed. They receive the technical file and the quantities. They work under written confidentiality terms.
• Logistics companies, freight forwarders and customs brokers, who need the shipping address, contact name, part description and value to move your goods and clear them.
• Service companies that run our tools, such as website hosting, email, file storage, scheduling and website measurement. They may process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers and lawyers, where there is a genuine need.
• Authorities, where we are required by law, court order or a lawful government request, including under United States law and, for work carried out in India, Indian law.
• A buyer of our business, if the company is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not trade contact lists with anybody.

10Where your information is handled

We are based in the United States and our manufacturing work happens in India. That means your information, including drawings and order details, will be sent to and stored in both countries, and may pass through service companies located elsewhere.

Data protection law is not identical in every country. Wherever your information goes, we keep the same commitments set out in this policy, and we put written confidentiality and data terms in place with the companies that handle it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you want to know what safeguards apply to a transfer, write to us and we will tell you.

11How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as there is a reason to.

• Enquiries and quotations that do not become orders: 12 months from our last contact, then deleted.
• Drawings and technical files where no order followed: deleted on request at any time, and otherwise 6 months after our last contact. If you would rather we held your files longer so a repeat quotation is faster, say so and we will keep them for you.
• Order records, drawings, inspection and quality evidence for parts we made: 7 years, because these records prove what was made, to which revision and to which standard, and both sides may need them for a warranty or a claim. Longer if your contract with us says so.
• Invoices and tax records: as long as United States and Indian tax law requires.
• Marketing contact details: until you ask us to stop, after which we keep only the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again.
• Website measurement data: for the period set by the tools named in section 4.

12How we protect information

We use access controls so that people see only the projects they work on, encrypted connections for the website and for file transfer, password protection with multiple factors on the accounts that hold customer files, and written confidentiality terms with every partner facility, sub supplier and service company that touches your material.

We will be honest with you about the limit here. No website, email system or company can promise that information can never be accessed by someone who should not have it. What we can promise is that we take it seriously, that we keep the circle small, and that if a breach happens that affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as the law requires and as quickly as good practice demands.

13Your rights and choices

Wherever you are, you can ask us to do the following, and we will not charge you for it.

• Tell you what information we hold about you and why.
• Give you a copy of it.
• Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
• Delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
• Stop using it for marketing.
• Restrict or object to a particular use.
• Take your information to another company in a portable form.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in California and other United States state privacy laws. There is nothing to opt out of, and you will never be treated differently for asking about your rights.

If you are in California, you have the rights to know, delete, correct and opt out described above, and you may use an authorised agent. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the rights above are your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are in India, you have the rights of a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal.

To use any of these, write to info@viaindigos.com with the words Privacy Request in the subject line. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else.

14Categories of information, and who receives it

United States state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, expect this to be set out by category rather than in prose. The table below covers the 12 months before the effective date at the top of this page.

We do not collect the categories the law calls sensitive personal information, such as government identity numbers, financial account numbers, precise location, health information or biometric information. We have not sold or shared any of the categories above in the last 12 months, and we will not.

15Children

This is a business website for people buying manufactured parts at work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

16Other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as certification registers, professional networks and reference material. Once you leave our site, this policy stops applying. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for how they handle your information, so it is worth reading their policy before you give them anything.

17Changes and how to contact us

We update this policy when our tools, our suppliers or the law change. The revision number and effective date at the top of this page always tell you which version you are reading. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you directly rather than expecting you to notice.
